African shopping website Jumia Nigeria has commissioned the African Press Organization (APO) to handle its media relations in Africa.
Founded in 2012, Jumia has emerged as Africa's fastest-growing Internet-based business.
"I have been watching Jumia from the beginning, and I believe that their communication strategy is a great model to follow for all entrepreneurial businesses in Africa," Nicolas Pompigne-Mognard, APO's founder and CEO, said. "We are very proud to be working with Jumia. It does not matter if you are in Africa or anywhere in the world; everyone is after the same thing -- efficient, innovative, fast service."
APO is Africa's only press-release service. Jumia's need for a press-release provider is attributable to its rapid growth; the site now operates in 11 countries across the continent, with 2.3 million Nigerian customers alone recently logging on to shop on Black Friday.
Jumia officials said the company will offer even more products in 2016. The company's press releases from APO will be available at www.apo-opa.com/press_release_distribution.php.
