St Helena has been nominated for the ‘Most Desirable Island – Worldwide’ category in the Wanderlust Travel Awards 2025. This nomination follows the shortlisting of destinations by Wanderlust, which resonated with its readership and broader audience. The public is now voting on these nominations to decide the winner.

Voting is open until October 17, 2025, and travelers are encouraged to support St Helena’s bid for this title. The winners will be announced at a ceremony during the World Travel Market at the National Gallery in London on November 5, 2025. The event celebrates worldwide destinations as recognized by Wanderlust’s readers.

The awards identify desirable cities, regions, countries, and emerging destinations. They also recognize top spots for adventure, culture and heritage, nature and wildlife, food, and sustainable travel.

This nomination offers St Helena a chance for further international recognition and to attract more visitors interested in its history, landscapes, and culture.

Jonathan Passaportis, Head of Tourism said: “Being nominated for the Most Desirable Island Worldwide is an amazing honour for St Helena. It reflects the growing appreciation for this magnificent island’s rare beauty, unrivalled nature, deep heritage, and warm hospitality.”
