St Helena signs contract for wastewater management design consultancy

St Helena Government has announced a new contract with MPAMOT Africa (PTY) Ltd, a Cape Town-based consultancy, to address wastewater management needs in Half Tree Hollow and Jamestown. The partnership aims to explore sustainable solutions for the island’s wastewater systems.

MPAMOT Africa is known for its extensive experience in engineering and development consultancy, with over 27 years of expertise across various sectors including Infrastructure, Transportation, Energy, and Advisory. The firm has contributed to numerous significant projects across Africa.

The initial phase of the Wastewater Management Upgrade Project will involve a comprehensive assessment of existing systems. This will include identifying solutions that align with St Helena’s specific conditions and recommending feasible design options. St Helena Government emphasizes its commitment to inclusive development and plans to engage stakeholders throughout the process. Updates on the project’s progress will be provided.

This initiative forms part of the £30 million Economic Development Investment Programme (EDIP), which receives funding from the UK Government. St Helena Government remains focused on enhancing infrastructure and fostering sustainable practices on the island.
