The Safety Security and Home Affairs Portfolio has announced that recent training provided by UK Border Force officials is having a positive impact on the Customs and Immigration Team’s operations in St Helena. According to the Portfolio, the team’s enhanced skills and knowledge are contributing to improved border security.

Customs and Immigration officers, working closely with the Royal St Helena Police, recently detained several items during an operation last weekend. The collaboration between these agencies is cited as a key factor in strengthening local border enforcement.

“The skills and knowledge gained from training delivered by our Border Force colleagues in the UK earlier this year continue to enhance the capabilities of our Customs and Immigration Team,” stated a representative from the Safety Security and Home Affairs Portfolio.

This development reflects ongoing efforts to build capacity within St Helena’s border management services through international cooperation.
