Councillor Denis Leo and Samantha Cherrett, who serves as the Climate Security Programme Manager at the Governor’s Office/FCDO, will attend the Green Overseas Workshop in Tahiti from December 1 to 5, 2025. The event is funded by the European Union and focuses on “Building climate resilient food systems.”
The workshop aims to strengthen skills and share knowledge related to developing and implementing food systems that can withstand the effects of climate change. It will address practical challenges, potential solutions, and their limitations.
“This initiative underscores the commitment to safeguarding communities against the growing impacts of climate change,” according to a statement from organizers.
Councillor Denis Leo is scheduled to leave St Helena on November 22 and return on December 9. During his absence, Councillor Ronald Coleman will take over responsibilities for the Longwood district. Residents needing assistance can contact him via email at [email protected].
