St. Helena assesses cyber security awareness after two-year campaign

In February 2023, the St. Helena Government (SHG) initiated a Cyber Security Awareness and Training Campaign following the Equiano internet cable project, which facilitated faster and less restricted internet access. This campaign, led by Gareth Drabble, the Cyber Security Awareness and Training Officer, involved various educational activities including the distribution of posters, radio jingles, videos, as well as in-person presentations and workshops. These efforts targeted SHG staff and the general public across community centers and schools on the island.

The primary objective of this campaign was to enhance awareness about common cyber security threats in St. Helena and equip individuals with necessary knowledge and training to protect themselves from such threats.

Now, two years into this initiative, SHG seeks to assess whether these goals are being met. To facilitate this evaluation, members of the public are invited to participate in a Cyber Security Awareness Campaign Follow-Up Survey questionnaire. A broad participation is encouraged to ensure an accurate understanding of public cyber awareness levels.

Completed questionnaires should be returned to either the Post and Customer Service Centre or the reception desk at the Castle by Monday, March 31, 2025.
