A new Governing Board for the Ghana Amalgamated Trust PLC (GAT) has been inaugurated by Deputy Minister for Finance, Hon. Thomas Nyarko-Ampem. During the ceremony, Nyarko-Ampem expressed confidence in the newly appointed board members and highlighted their collective experience and expertise.
Nyarko-Ampem also emphasized the government’s ongoing commitment to supporting the banking sector. He stated that the administration has prioritized investing in saving banks instead of spending over 30 billion cedis to collapse them.
The Chairperson of the Board, Dr. Kwabena Donkor, stated that the board will focus on creating a financially sustainable banking sector, ensuring profitability, and delivering dividends. “The board will work to create a financially sustainable banking sector, ensuring profitability and delivering dividends,” Donkor said.
The seven-member board includes Dr. Kwabena Donkor as Chairperson; Mr. Abraham Tetteh as Managing Director; Hon. Joseph Appiah Boateng, MP; Mr. Benjamin Dabrah; Mr. Benjamin Komla Kpodo; Mr. Kotobridja Francis Ploughman; and Hon. Nicholas Amankwah, MP.
