Nigerian Breweries Plc has announced the appointment of Sade Morgan as the Corporate Affairs Director for Heineken Africa & Middle East (AME) region. Her new role will begin on May 1, 2025. This was confirmed in a statement by Hans Essaadi, Managing Director of Nigerian Breweries Plc, on April 4, 2025.

Morgan is currently serving as the Corporate Affairs Director at Nigerian Breweries and will succeed David Paterson. She is noted for being the first regional national from the AME region to hold this senior leadership position at Heineken.

In her upcoming role, Morgan will join both the Heineken Global Corporate Affairs Leadership Team and the Heineken AME Management Team. Her responsibilities include driving corporate affairs strategy to support growth and protect Heineken’s reputation in the AME region.

Since joining Nigerian Breweries in 2018 as Corporate Affairs Director, Morgan has led regulatory and fiscal engagements to foster a favorable business climate in Nigeria. She played a significant role in managing operational challenges during temporary suspensions at select breweries and contributed to advancing sustainability goals through Heineken’s Brew a Better World initiative.

Morgan was recognized with awards such as Outstanding Corporate Spokesperson of the Year at the Nigerian National SpokesPersons Award in 2025 and Corporate Communications Professional of the Year at the Lagos Public Relations Industry Gala in 2024.

With a career spanning over 27 years across various industries like consumer goods, tobacco, and beverages, Morgan has extensive experience in legal, regulatory, and business leadership roles. Her previous positions include Legal Director and EEMEA Regulatory and Marketing Counsel for British American Tobacco’s global operations.

An alumnus of IMD and INSEAD business schools, she holds honors degrees in Law from Obafemi Awolowo University and Nigerian Law School. She is also involved with professional organizations such as the Institute of Directors and Nigerian Institute of Public Relations.

Morgan’s leadership skills are expected to be instrumental in navigating complex regulatory landscapes while driving corporate affairs strategies across Africa & Middle East for Heineken.
