His Excellency Julius Maada Bio, President of the Republic of Sierra Leone and Chairman of the ECOWAS Authority of Heads of State and Government, has opened the Third Session of the Sixth Parliament of the Second Republic. The event took place at the Parliament Building on Tower Hill in Freetown on Thursday, 7 August 2025.
During his address to parliament, President Bio spoke as both head of state and commander-in-chief of the Sierra Leone Armed Forces. He outlined key priorities for his administration and highlighted recent developments affecting Sierra Leone.
The session marks a continuation of parliamentary proceedings under President Bio’s leadership, as he continues to serve in his dual role within Sierra Leone and ECOWAS.
