President Joseph Nyuma Boakai of Liberia met with United Arab Emirates President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan in Abu Dhabi to discuss ways to enhance cooperation between the two countries. The meeting, held at Qasr Al Bahr, focused on collaboration in sectors such as renewable energy, healthcare, education, tourism, agriculture, and transport infrastructure.
During the talks, President Boakai praised the UAE for its progress in innovation and sustainable development. He said that Liberia is prepared to deepen partnerships that will benefit both nations. “Liberia’s development priorities align with the UAE’s vision of sustainable economic diversification and inclusive progress,” Boakai stated.
Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed emphasized the UAE’s interest in building stronger relations with Liberia and other African countries. He highlighted the importance of partnerships based on shared values and mutual respect. “The UAE is interested in strengthening relations with Liberia and other African nations,” he said.
Both leaders also discussed regional and international issues, reaffirming their commitment to promoting peace, stability, and sustainable development across Africa and globally.
President Boakai was joined by several members of his delegation: Minister of Finance and Development Planning Augustine Kpehe Ngafuan; Minister of State Without Portfolio Hadja Mamaka Bility; Director General of the Cabinet Nathanial Kwabo; Liberia’s Ambassador to the UAE Imam Mohammed Dukuly; and Presidential Envoy on Trade Daniel N. Kolubah.
UAE officials present included H.H. Sheikh Hamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan; Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Adviser to the UAE President; along with other ministers and senior officials.
This meeting reflects President Boakai’s ongoing efforts to strengthen international partnerships for Liberia and attract investments aligned with the country’s ARREST Agenda for Inclusive Development.
