President Joseph Nyuma Boakai Sr. has recognized two senior diplomatic figures as their assignments in Liberia near completion. The acknowledgment took place during the New Year’s Reception at the Executive Mansion in Monrovia on February 20, 2026.
Ambassador Josephine Nkrumah, Resident Representative of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) to Liberia, and Ambassador Comfort Lamptey, Country Representative of UN Women in Liberia, were honored for their service and contributions to national development. Foreign Affairs Minister Sarah Beysolow Nyanti delivered the tribute on behalf of President Boakai.
President Boakai expressed gratitude for the diplomats’ collaboration and commitment to supporting Liberia’s peace, governance, and development efforts. “I thank you for working with us. We are sincerely grateful for your support,” he said.
He also noted that their work would have a lasting effect on Liberia’s relationship with the international community. “Your service, friendship, and contribution will continue to be remembered,” President Boakai added.
Reflecting on Liberia’s hospitality and influence on those who serve there, he stated: “Liberia may be a small country, but it leaves a lasting impression. Many who come here discover that even when they depart physically, a part of Liberia remains with them.”
President Boakai emphasized that maintaining strong partnerships with international organizations and diplomatic missions is central to advancing national progress.
