Dr. Labor highlighted the achievements of the Mental Health Secretariat since its inception in April 2023, attributing its success to President Bio’s leadership. The Secretariat has been instrumental in capacity building and supporting over 1,000 individuals facing mental health challenges, including those affected by substance abuse and women living with HIV. President Bio reiterated his administration’s dedication to mental health as a vital aspect of national development. He praised the Secretariat for its effective work and stressed the importance of collaboration with other state institutions to enhance success in this sector.

“The establishment of the Mental Health Secretariat was a key step in addressing the growing need for mental health support in Sierra Leone. I am proud of the progress made so far and encourage you to continue working in line with your mandate,” stated President Bio.

He further assured continued support from his administration, highlighting mental health as essential for building a resilient and productive society.
