President Bio discusses anti-corruption measures with ACC experts

State House, Freetown, Thursday 1 August 2024 – His Excellency President Dr. Julius Maada Bio met with a team of subject-specific experts assembled by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) to discuss ongoing efforts in combating corruption within Sierra Leone.

The meeting focused on strategies and measures that could enhance transparency and accountability in governance. “We are committed to eradicating corruption from our society,” President Bio stated during the session. The ACC has been instrumental in implementing various reforms aimed at reducing corrupt practices across different sectors.

In related engagements, President Bio recently participated in several international events held in Paris, France. On Friday, 26 July 2024, he was among the world leaders hosted by French President Emmanuel Macron at a reception aimed at fostering diplomatic relations and cooperation between nations.

Furthermore, on Thursday, 25 July 2024, President Bio attended the International Summit on Sport for Sustainable Development. At this event, he expressed his appreciation to French authorities for their role in promoting sports as a vehicle for sustainable development worldwide. “Sports can play a crucial role in uniting communities and driving positive change,” remarked President Bio.

These activities highlight Sierra Leone’s commitment to global collaboration and internal reform efforts under President Bio’s administration.
