The Gambia is joining the global Catholic community in mourning the death of Pope Francis. President Adama Barrow has sent his condolences to Cardinal Kevin Farrell, Interim Administrative Leader of the Holy Roman Church.

In his message, President Barrow expressed sympathy on behalf of the Government and the people of The Gambia to The Holy See and the Catholic community both locally and internationally. He acknowledged Pope Francis’s commitment to peace and his inspiring legacy.

President Barrow also offered prayers for Pope Francis’s soul to rest in eternal peace.
