The Ministry of State for Presidential Affairs in Liberia has taken decisive measures following an investigation by the Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission (LACC) into alleged payroll padding within the Supplementary Payroll scheme. The investigation involved a detailed review, including interviews, statement collections, and financial record analysis.
As a result of these findings, three employees have been dismissed for violating government regulations that led to the misuse of public funds. These individuals are Mr. Lamine Sharpe, Director of Budget/Finance; Atty. Harry B. Sando, Financial Comptroller; and Mr. Mohammed S. Kromah, Assistant Minister for Human Resource.
In contrast, Mr. James Y. Tolker, Deputy Financial Controller, was found not to be involved in the scheme and has been reinstated to his position.
These actions underscore the Ministry’s dedication to transparency and ethical governance while ensuring the protection of public resources. Ongoing reforms aim to prevent similar issues from arising in the future.
