Liberian and Gambian presidents discuss cooperation at MEDays Forum in Morocco

President Joseph Nyuma Boakai of Liberia met with President Adama Barrow of The Gambia during the 17th MEDays Forum in Tangier, Morocco. The meeting took place on the sidelines of the forum and focused on issues important to both countries.

The two presidents discussed regional peace and security, economic cooperation, and ways to strengthen bilateral relations between Liberia and The Gambia. They also considered how to work together within ECOWAS as West Africa faces political, economic, and security challenges.

President Boakai expressed Liberia’s interest in expanding cooperation with The Gambia. He emphasized the importance of coordination among West African nations for stability and development. “Stronger partnerships create opportunities for shared growth in areas such as agriculture, education, governance, and trade,” he said.

President Barrow responded positively to these ideas. “The Gambia’s readiness to explore practical avenues for collaboration that support both national and regional objectives,” he stated.

This meeting highlighted the ongoing relationship between Liberia and The Gambia and their shared goal of promoting peace and prosperity in West Africa.
