President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr., has commissioned new firefighting equipment to enhance the Liberia National Fire Service (LNFS). The ceremony took place at the Executive Mansion in Monrovia and included the handover of six fire trucks, three water trucks, two operational Jeeps, and ten motorcycles.
President Boakai emphasized that these tools are crucial for protecting communities from fires. “These equipment will not sit in garages. They are tools of service—tools that represent our duty to protect every Liberian community from the devastating impact of fire outbreaks,” he said. He also encouraged professionalism within LNFS and public cooperation with safety initiatives.
LNFS Director G. Wasuwah Barvoul, Sr., expressed gratitude for this investment, stating it marks a historic moment for the Fire Service. “This is a historic moment for the Fire Service. With these new trucks, water carriers, jeeps, and motorcycles, we can now respond faster, reach remote areas, and save more lives,” Col. Barvoul noted.
The new equipment will be strategically deployed across Liberia to ensure equitable service delivery. This initiative is part of President Boakai’s commitment to improving national safety infrastructure under his administration’s ARREST Agenda.
