The Highways Authority has announced the closure of Ladder Hill Road and Shy Road from 9:00 AM on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, until Thursday, July 31, 2025. This closure is necessary for full-width surface works as part of the Roads Rehabilitation Programme under the Economic Development Investment Programme (EDIP).
The rehabilitation efforts will impact emergency services and public transport. Vehicles traveling to and from Jamestown must use Side Path or Constitution Hill Road during this period. However, Jacobs Ladder and the halfway path connecting to Shy Road will remain accessible.
To mitigate travel costs, car sharing is recommended. The Roads Section has conducted inspections of all primary roads and is preparing a schedule to address priority areas. Future works are planned for several locations including:
– Ladder Hill Road
– Ladder Hill to White Wall
– White Wall to Sapper Way
– White Gate to Bates Branch
– Bottom Woods to Longwood Gate
– Longwood Gate to Hutts Gate
– Hutts Gate to Alarm Forest
