GOIL PLC has been recognized by the Ghana Private Road Transport Union (GPRTU) for its ongoing supply of high-quality fuels and longstanding partnership with transport operators. The acknowledgment was made during a courtesy visit by GOIL’s delegation to the GPRTU at the TUC Headquarters in Accra.
The GOIL team, led by Chief Operating Officer Dr. Marcus Deo Dake, included Emmanuel Agyiri, Head of Fuels Marketing; Ing. Joshua Duodu, Head of Technical and Special Products; Robert Kyere, Head of Corporate Affairs; and Desmond Asati, Public Relations Manager.
Nana Nimako Bresiamah, National Chairman of the GPRTU, praised GOIL for maintaining high standards in fuel quality and service. He said GOIL products have shown superior performance and encouraged the company to expand its services to Agona in the Ashanti region and other underserved areas. Bresiamah stated that “the relationship between GPRTU and GOIL is one of mutual benefit, built on trust and shared national interest.”
Alhaji Abass Moro, Head of Communications at GPRTU, welcomed the delegation and introduced his team before Robert Kyere presented the GOIL representatives.
Dr. Dake responded to GPRTU’s commendation by conveying greetings from Group CEO and Managing Director Edward Abambire Bawa. He emphasized appreciation for the Union’s loyalty over decades: “For more than fifty years, GOIL has worked hand-in-hand with the GPRTU and its members. GOIL cannot thrive without you.” Dr. Dake added that GOIL’s mission extends beyond profit to national service: “We operate in every corner of Ghana – because we are a national asset with a duty to connect Ghanaians everywhere.”
He described GOIL fuels as additivated products that provide longer mileage, engine protection, and better performance at competitive prices. “This is what we call Good Energy, the perfect blend of quality, performance, and value,” he said.
Dr. Dake also highlighted that local companies and individuals can own shares in GOIL: “When you buy from GOIL, you are not enriching an individual – you are building Ghana. Every purchase is a direct investment in the nation’s growth.”
He concluded by describing the meeting as “the beginning of better days ahead,” promising continued partnership with GPRTU to support national development.
Emmanuel Kwame Agyiri noted that GOIL aims to reach 440 fuel stations nationwide by year-end to make its products more accessible. He stated that their lubricants meet international standards and are endorsed by leading Original Engine Manufacturers (OEMs).
Other attendees included Emmanuel Nii Ankrah (National Vice Chairman), Jacob Odae (First National Trustee), Sly Tetteh (Greater Accra Regional Vice President), Robert Darko (Industrial Relations Officer), Alhaji Abbas Moro (Head of Communications), as well as Duncan Amoah from COPEC.
