Government announces plan for new multi-sport stadium in Lamin

Earlier today, President Adama Barrow met with leaders from Kombo Lamin village at the State House in Banjul. The meeting focused on several infrastructure projects, including a new national stadium, a youth recreational center, and road construction.

Alagie Yusupha Gomez, Secretary General of the Lamin Village Development Committee (VDC), spoke on behalf of the delegation. He expressed gratitude to President Barrow for discussing these significant issues. Gomez highlighted the need for improved roads to ease traffic congestion and enhance transportation between Lamin and nearby areas. He also sought support for fencing the women’s garden to protect it from intrusions and emphasized the importance of building a youth recreational center.

President Barrow assured that dialogue, peace, development, rule of law, and judicial independence would continue in the country. He announced plans for a multi-sport national stadium in Lamin and encouraged alignment of local initiatives with government policies. The President committed to supporting the women’s garden to boost production and prevent animal intrusion.

The delegation thanked President Barrow and his administration for their dedication to working together towards national progress.
