The Global Development’s Frontier 100 Forum celebrated the growth of Africa’s private sector during the “African Business in the World-Class Space” event that took place Oct. 19 and Oct. 20 in Washington, D.C.
“Today, Africa’s private sector is poised to become a major force for growth on the continent,” Dr. Mima Nedelcovych, Initiative for Global Development president and CEO, said.
The keynote speaker was Solomon Asamoah, African Development Bank’s vice president of infrastructure, private sector and regional integration. In his address, he urged Africa’s leaders to develop stronger business environments.
“We need more transparency in government decisions,” Asamoah said. “Corruption happens in darkness. Shining a light on it can help end the problem.”
To end the forum, investors gathered to discuss African investment opportunities and share information.
