Guest of honor President Bola Ahmed Tinubu of Nigeria called the inauguration a historic moment for Ghana. He urged President Mahama to focus on poverty reduction and youth unemployment, essential for sustainable development in the region. President Tinubu also commended the presence of African leaders at the ceremony, underscoring solidarity’s importance in advancing shared continental goals.
Ghana and Sierra Leone have long maintained strong bilateral relations through mutual support during crises and collaborative development efforts.
