Accra, July 3, 2025 — The Ministry of Finance has announced that the Government of Ghana has completed a payment of US$349,523,674.56 for Eurobond debt service obligations through the Bank of Ghana. This payment was made on Thursday, July 3, 2025.

Following the conclusion of Ghana’s Eurobond debt restructuring in October 2024, the government has serviced a total of US$1,174.64 million in Eurobond debt payments. In October 2024, an initial payment of US$475.60 million was made under the restructuring agreement. In January 2025 and now in July 2025, further payments of US$349.52 million each have been completed.

These payments ensure that Ghana is current with all scheduled Eurobond debt service obligations for 2025. Looking ahead to next year, a total debt service amounting to US$1,409.06 million is planned for 2026.

The Ministry states that this timely payment “reaffirms Ghana’s commitment to macroeconomic stability, prudent debt management, and constructive engagement with external creditors.” It is anticipated to positively impact Ghana’s credit ratings and boost investor confidence in its sovereign credit profile and economic recovery program. Additionally, it supports foreign exchange market stability as part of the Bank of Ghana’s reserves and liquidity management strategy.
