St Paul’s Cathedral in Kenema City was the venue for the funeral mass of Hon. Musa Peter Moigua, who passed away on May 9, 2025, at the age of 54. The event on June 14, 2025, saw attendance from Sierra Leone’s First Lady Dr. Fatima Maada Bio, family members, and many mourners.

Dr. Fatima Maada Bio delivered a tribute on behalf of President Julius Maada Bio, describing Hon. Moigua as more than just a political figure: “a fire in the dark, a force in the fight, and a soul who carried the weight of many and never once dropped it.”

The First Lady highlighted his courage and principles: “In the face of corruption, he was courageous. In the shadow of fear, he was a flame.” She portrayed him as a protector and dreamer whose leadership was defined by sacrifice and service.

Reflecting on how to honor Hon. Moigua’s legacy, she stated: “Not with silence or pity, but with action, vision, and commitment.” She urged that his name be a call to conscience for all.

The Bishop of Kenema Diocese officiated the mass with references from religious texts including John 6:37–40 and Wisdom 4:7–15.
