The Minister for Finance, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, has inaugurated a new seven-member Board for the Financial Intelligence Centre (FIC). The newly appointed board members include Mr. Mike Kofi Afflu as Chairperson and Mr. Albert Kwadwo Twum Boafo as Chief Executive. Other members are Ms. Grace Mbrokoh-Ewoal from the Ministry of Finance, Ms. Elizabeth Ama Yankah from National Security, Dr. Kwasi Osei Yeboah, a representative from the Ministry of the Interior (Senior Police Officer), and a representative from the Attorney-General’s Department.
The Board’s mandate is to support Ghana’s efforts in combating money laundering, terrorism financing, and other financial crimes. The FIC is essential in safeguarding Ghana’s financial system amid increasing sophistication in fraud and financial crimes.
