Erin Energy Corporation recently announced test results suggesting one of their sites in Ghana has the ability to produce 500 million barrels of oil and 282 billions of cubic feet of gas.
The projection stems from a volume evaluation conducted in Tano North, Tano West and Tano South in the Expanded Shallow Water Tano (ESWT) Block, located in Ghana, which is operated by Erin Energy Corporation subsidiary Camac Energy Ghana.
“We are very
encouraged by the results of the evaluation of resources and believe
this asset holds significant potential for Erin Energy,” Chief
Operating Officer Segun Omidele said.
So far, 14 wells have been drilled at the location and are expected to produce between 600 and 2,047 barrels per day.
Capacity of production in the area is crucial to the further development of Tano fields.
Erin Energy has announced they and their partners will perform more studies in the area in coming months.
“We are continuing to work with our partners and the government of Ghana to be able to declare commerciality of field development,” Omidele said. “The commencement of commercial oil production from Ghana would provide significant value to our stakeholders.”
The volume assessment was performed by an American independent resources evaluator.
