ECOWAS Vice-President concludes official visit to strengthen ties with Guinea

After three days of discussions and activities, the Vice-President of the ECOWAS Commission, Mrs. Damtien Tchintchibidja, concluded her official visit to Guinea. The visit aimed at strengthening cooperation between ECOWAS and Guinea.

One significant event during the visit was the launch of the National Coordination Centre for the Early Warning and Response Mechanism for Security Risks. This initiative seeks to enhance Guinea’s Peace and Security Architecture by prioritizing people’s needs.

Additionally, a $75,000 grant agreement was signed with Mr. Ismael Nabe, Minister of Planning and International Cooperation, representing Guinea’s government. The grant will support developing and implementing the National Strategy for Human Capital Development.

High-level meetings were held with Guinean officials, including Prime Minister Amadou Oury Bah and Dr. Morissanda Kouyaté, Minister of Foreign Affairs. These discussions aimed at reinforcing strategic partnerships and exploring new collaboration opportunities.

In her speech, Mrs. Tchintchibidja reiterated ECOWAS’ commitment to supporting Guinea in its economic and social transformation efforts. She stressed regional coordination’s importance in addressing common challenges among Member States.

Prime Minister Bah expressed gratitude for ECOWAS’ support and reaffirmed Guinea’s commitment to fulfilling its obligations within the Community.

Mrs. Tchintchibidja was accompanied by a delegation from the Directorate of Early Warning during her visit to ECOWAS Permanent Representation in Guinea. The visit marks a new phase in relations between ECOWAS and Guinea.
