ECOWAS Mining and Petroleum Forum held in Accra

The first edition of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) Mining and Petroleum Forum (ECOMOF 2015) was held Oct. 6 to Oct. 8 at the Accra International Conference Center under the theme “Valorising West Africa’s Mineral & Petroleum Resources through Regional Cooperation.” 

Attended by local and international decision makers in the West African mining and petroleum industries, government delegations and ECOWAS members from Benin, Burkina Faso, Cape Verde, Cote d’Ivoire, the Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea Bissau, Liberia, Mali, Niger, Nigeria, Senegal Sierra Leone and Togo participated in the event. 

During the forum, participants engaged in interactive workshops, an Industry conference with plenary and parallel sessions, roundtables, country presentations and technical tours.

Organized by the government of Ghana, the ECOWAS Commission as well as AME trade, ECOMOF will be held every two years and rotate among African member countries, aiming to promote and develop
the mining and petroleum potentials in the ECOWAS region.
