ECOWAS holds staff retreat to enhance financial reporting practices

The Directorate of Financial Reporting and Grants conducted a three-day staff retreat from July 9 to 11 in Kano, Nigeria. The event aimed to foster team building, collaboration, and communication within the Directorate to improve performance.

During the opening ceremony, ECOWAS Commissioner for Internal Services, Professor Nazifi Abdullahi Darma, stressed the importance of taking responsibility for procedures in their respective roles. He highlighted the need for effective team management and strategic leadership at the management level and addressed the necessity of filling identified personnel gaps within the directorate.

Mr. Ahmadou Oury Baldé, Director of Financial Reporting and Grants, encouraged staff to stay motivated and actively participate in the retreat. He remarked that the event would enhance collaboration and communication among team members, ultimately increasing productivity within the directorate.
