Legal dignitaries and sectoral directorates from the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) and the West African Economic and Monetary Union (UEMOA) convened in Dakar, Senegal for their seventh meeting. This event took place from November 25 to 29, 2024, highlighting a shared commitment to address issues related to the convergence of adopted texts and prevent divergences and overlaps.

This gathering in Dakar builds on prior meetings held in 2015, 2016, 2018, 2022, and 2023. These sessions have focused on identifying areas where convergence between the two organizations is necessary.

At the conclusion of this meeting, several outcomes are anticipated:

– Preparation of documents for submission to the Heads of institutions for signature.
– Adoption of a modus operandi for exchanging regulatory texts aimed at harmonization.
