Diplomats present credentials to President Bio, pledge stronger bilateral relations

Sierra Leone’s President, Dr. Julius Maada Bio, has received letters of credence from three diplomats at the State House Credential Room. The diplomats included the United Kingdom’s High Commissioner to Sierra Leone, Ms. Josephine Gauld LVO, The Gambia’s newly designated High Commissioner, Madam Claudiana A. Cole, and the European Union (EU) Ambassador, Jacek Jankowski. These representatives expressed their commitment to strengthening bilateral ties with Sierra Leone.

Jacek Jankowski conveyed congratulations from the European Commission and emphasized his intention to collaborate closely with President Bio’s administration for Sierra Leone’s development. “The EU and Sierra Leone have historically maintained strong relationships, and this pledge signals continued collaboration in key areas,” he stated.

Claudiana A. Cole extended greetings from President Adama Barrow of The Gambia and highlighted her dedication to fostering a cooperative relationship between Sierra Leone and The Gambia. She acknowledged her predecessor’s work and committed to enhancing ties further.

Ms. Josephine Gauld LVO congratulated President Bio on Sierra Leone’s recent appointment as a Non-Permanent Member of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC). She reaffirmed the UK’s intention to strengthen its bilateral relationship with Sierra Leone in areas of shared interests and global cooperation.

President Bio welcomed the diplomats and accepted their credentials, expressing satisfaction with the strong relationships Sierra Leone maintains with these nations. He reiterated his commitment to working with each representative to strengthen partnerships for mutual benefits.
