Desperados has launched a new global campaign titled “Beer with a Latin Vibe” in Nigeria, aiming to blend music, culture, and high-energy experiences for younger audiences. The campaign is led by Colombian producer OVY ON THE DRUMS, who is known for his influence on Latin music. This initiative targets Gen Z and Gen Y through culturally relevant themes, emphasizing spontaneity and vibrancy.

Central to the campaign is the track “GUAO GUAO,” created by OVY ON THE DRUMS featuring Venezuelan rapper MICRO TDH. The song aims to inspire listeners to embrace the unexpected. Desperados sees Nigeria’s thriving music scene as an ideal setting for this movement, leveraging the shared energy between Latin and African cultures.

The campaign includes the Global Desperados Dance Challenge, encouraging fans worldwide to dance to “GUAO GUAO.” In Nigeria, local dancers will merge Latin rhythms with their own styles. This challenge seeks to celebrate self-expression and creativity across social media platforms.

Sampson Oloche, Portfolio Manager of Beyond Beer at Desperados, stated: “This campaign embodies the bold and adventurous spirit of Desperados. By blending the infectious energy of Latin music with the vibrant social culture of Nigeria, we are creating a movement that encourages people to embrace spontaneity, live freely, and celebrate in their own way.”

The rollout will feature various consumer touchpoints such as a YouTube release of the “GUAO GUAO” music video, an interactive AR Snap filter, and engaging social media collaborations. Through these efforts, Desperados aims to redefine beer experiences in Nigeria.

Nigerians can participate by streaming “GUAO GUAO” on YouTube and joining the Global Desperados Dance Challenge while staying updated via Desperados Nigeria’s channels.
