The Deputy Minister for Finance, Hon. Thomas Nyarko-Ampem, has inaugurated the Governing Board of the National Homeownership Fund Ltd. (NHF). During the event, he urged board members to ensure that affordable housing becomes accessible to ordinary Ghanaians.
He noted that access to affordable housing remains a significant challenge for many people in Ghana and called on the board to develop strategies aimed at meeting the housing needs of low- and middle-income earners.
Chief Executive Officer Mr. Prosper Hoetu emphasized the urgency of addressing these challenges. He stated that only 5% of Ghanaians can afford to buy their own homes, while about 60% need some form of support to secure decent shelter. He pledged that the Fund will work toward improving this situation and expanding access to housing.
The members appointed to serve on the National Homeownership Fund Ltd. Board are Abraham Ekow Halm as Chairperson; Mr. Prosper Yaw Hoetu as Chief Executive Officer; Dr. Johnson Ehiakpor; Hon.
