The 2026 Budget Hearings concluded on September 29, 2025, at the Ministry of Finance. The final session included presentations from the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection, the Ministry of Finance, and the Ministry of Works and Housing.
The Budget Hearing is an engagement between the Ministry of Finance and various Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs). Its purpose is to review both financial and non-financial performance for the current fiscal year. It also serves as a forum to examine budget proposals, programs, and projects planned for the coming year.
According to Regulation 17(3) of L.I. 2378 under Ghana’s Public Financial Management Regulation (2019), these hearings are conducted by the Budget Office after MDAs submit their proposals. This process is intended to ensure that there is alignment with national priorities, accountability in spending, and effective allocation of resources within Ghana’s public finance system.
With today’s session completed, this year’s hearings are now finished. The conclusion marks a significant step in preparing the national budget for 2026.
