Boakai appoints officials across multiple sectors requiring Senate confirmation

President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr. has announced new appointments and nominations for various government positions in Liberia. The appointments affect the Liberia Electricity Regulatory Commission (LERC), Notary Public offices, and local governments across several counties, including Grand Kru, Sinoe, Lofa, Rivercess, Rivergee, and Margibi.

These nominations will require confirmation by the Liberian Senate where applicable.

For the Liberia Electricity Regulatory Commission (LERC), Mr. Claude J. Katta has been named as Chairman.

In the area of Notary Public offices across Montserrado and Nimba Counties, Dr. Augurie E. Stevens is appointed as a Notary Public Officer in Montserrado County. Mr. Johnson M. Miah, Mr. Harrison Yohn, Mr. Lawrence Yelewhyee, and Atty. Emmanuel Z. Garmie have been nominated for similar roles in different cities within Nimba County.

In Grand Kru County, a range of acting roles have been filled including statutory superintendents and district commissioners with individuals such as Mr. Roland G. Nyanfore and Mr. Nelson S. Doe among those named.

Sinoe County sees several acting positions filled including Mr. Dennis T.W Jabbah as Acting Commissioner for Butaw District and others like Mr. Sam K Seah Sr., taking on key roles in statutory districts.

Appointments in Lofa County include Kermoh M.S Kanneh as Commissioner of Barkedu Township in Quardu Gboni District.

Rivercess County also sees new appointments with A Trokon Brown being appointed as the County Relieving Commissioner among others like Urias S Tarpeh serving as District Inspector for Yarnie Statutory District.

Rivergee County’s new appointees include Asatu Kamara as District Development Officer for Gbeapo Statutory District along with other officials such as Gabriel N Pour who is named Relieving Commissioner.

Finally, Margibi County includes new acting city mayors like Mr James Kpleh for Marshall City along with other commissioners like Arthur D Bourkuh for Kaba District.

These changes replace any previous announcements regarding these agencies or positions.

President Boakai urged all appointed officials to maintain diligence, commitment, integrity, professionalism, and loyalty in their service to the country.
