President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr., of Liberia has officially commissioned Bob Sheriff as the nation's Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Sierra Leone. The commissioning ceremony occurred at the Executive Mansion in Monrovia.
During the event, President Boakai highlighted the importance of Liberia's bilateral relations with Sierra Leone. He urged Ambassador Sheriff to serve with integrity and dedication to enhance regional cooperation within the Mano River Union framework. "You are being entrusted with a critical responsibility to represent Liberia’s interests, promote mutual cooperation, and deepen the historical, cultural, and economic bonds that unite our two nations," President Boakai stated.
The President also advised Ambassador Sheriff to focus on diplomatic engagement, economic diplomacy, and ensuring the welfare of Liberians living in Sierra Leone.
In response, Ambassador Sheriff expressed his gratitude for the trust placed in him by President Boakai. He committed himself to uphold Liberia's foreign policy objectives and work towards strengthening relations between Monrovia and Freetown.
President Boakai is focused on revitalizing Liberia’s diplomatic missions and promoting effective foreign engagement across West Africa through the ARREST Agenda for Inclusive Development.
