The Provisional Register of Electors for 2025 has been published by Gazette. The register is accessible on the SHG website or through Assistant Registration Officers. It can also be viewed in person at several locations, including the Public Library, Customer Services Centre, and various supermarkets and shops.
The provisional register will form the basis for the final Register of Electors, effective from July 1, 2025. This final register will determine eligibility to vote, sponsor or support a candidate, or stand in the upcoming General Election. No changes will be possible after its publication until after the election.
Residents are encouraged to verify their information on the provisional register. Eligible individuals have until 4:00 p.m. on May 23, 2025, to submit applications using Form ‘A’ for any amendments.
Eligibility criteria include having St Helenian Status as defined by law (Immigration Ordinance, 2011), being ordinarily resident on St Helena, and being aged 17 years or older. Amendments might include adding a name, changing details such as name or address, or altering the electoral district.
Submissions can be made in hard copy or via email to officers at the Castle: Carol Henry (carol.henry@sainthelena.gov.sh), Anita Legg (anita.legg@sainthelena.gov.sh), Gillian Francis (gillian.francis@sainthelena.gov.sh), and Connie Johnson (connie.johnson@sainthelena.gov.sh). Assistance is available from Assistant Registration Officers listed on the SHG website.
For residents who are currently off-island but ordinarily reside there, Form ‘B’ is available for amendments. Both forms can be downloaded from the SHG Elections page.
