Freetown, May 1, 2025 – President Julius Maada Bio of Sierra Leone expressed his government's steadfast dedication to protecting workers' dignity and promoting economic empowerment at the Labour Day celebration this year. The event took place at the Miata Conference Hall.
During his address, President Bio acknowledged the contributions of various workers, including teachers, healthcare professionals, farmers, and miners, calling them "the true architects of our nation’s progress." He noted, "Today, I wear two hats: President and Worker."
He outlined the government's view of labour as a means to prosperity and national transformation, stressing the significance of investments in education, healthcare, and agriculture.
