Visa hosting fraud prevention workshop in Senegal

To prevent debit and credit card fraud for West African users, representatives from Visa Inc.'s Visa Business School is hosting a three-day fraud prevention workshop in Dakar, Senegal.

Topics being covered at the workshop, which was attended by 32 people associated with 17 banks and started Friday, included the latest technology in debit and credit cards and best practices for using them as well as fraud trends and how to detect them.

“This workshop is part of Visa’s commitment to share fraud prevention best practices and the latest technologies with our clients in West Africa, a region that is witnessing considerable growth in electronic payments driven by high rates of mobile penetration and adoption of new trends in the payments industry,” Ismahill Diaby, Visa’s West Africa manager, said. “The topic is very important as the region embarks on a journey to gain the needed tools to offer more payment options, provide financial services to under-served populations, and adapt to a fast-changing payments environment.”
