AIDF Africa Summit 2016 to focus on development in East Africa

The Aid & International Development Forum (AIDF) has released the agenda for its upcoming Africa Summit to be held at the United Nations Conference Centre in Addis Ababa from Feb. 2 to Feb. 3.

More than 250 representatives from government, non-government organizations, UN agencies, community-based organizations, research institutions and private sector companies are expected to come together to discuss how technological innovations and best practices could help enhance aid delivery and development strategy in East Africa.

“At AIDF, we believe that cross-sector collaboration and partnerships across regions are key to more effective aid delivery and development strategy in East Africa," AIDF Event Director Sonja Ruetzel said. "The Aid & Development Africa Summit aims to showcase expertise of different global stakeholders and provide an opportunity for knowledge exchange and networking among public, private and civil society stakeholders.”

Among the topics to be discussed are mobile innovations for humanitarian and development work, humanitarian logistics and supply chain challenges, child and maternal health initiatives, the empowerment of women and improving access to HIV/AIDS prevention.

The agenda for the AIDF Africa Summit 2016 was created in collaboration with a variety of organizations, including UNICEF, UN Habitat, World Bank, Habitat for Humanity International, World Vision and Save the Children.
