ASEA annual conference set for Nov. 15-17 in Johannesburg

The African Securities Exchanges Association (ASEA) has set its annual conference for Nov. 15 to Nov. 17 in Johannesburg.

With the theme of "Africa Evermore: Growth for Sustainability," the conference will be hosted by the Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE), the continent’s largest exchange.

“The conference is important as it features high level discussions covering themes that are relevant to our capital markets and opportunities to network with leading industry players from across the continent,” ASEA President Oscar Onyema said.

Nicky Newton-King, JSE CEO, agreed with Onyema.

“Those who operate in the regulated market need to know that we are part of the global financial markets,” Newton-King said. “We are already beginning to see this for example in East Africa, where they are driving significant regional connectivity.”

ASEA oversees 25 securities exchanges, including those in Nigeria and Ghana. For more information about the conference, visit www.african-exchanges.org.
