The Manufacturing Association of Nigeria (MAN) has launched its Large Corporation Group, which is intended to focus on developing policy recommendations that will result in a beneficial economic and social climate.

The goal is for the economic and social climate to be able to handle the development and operation of large scale industries in Nigeria.

Frank Udemba, president of MAN, spoke at the inauguration ceremony for the Large Corporation Group, stressing that one of the most important jobs is facilitating an effective link between small/medium scale industries and their large counterparts, especially when it comes to the production and supply value chain. Udemba expressed his belief that the link is a crucial one in regards to developing Nigeria into a manufacturing hub in the sub-region and beyond.

Hajia Aisha Abubaker, minister of state for trade and industry, stated that the federal government is committed to the creation of an environment where manufacturing can thrive. She also said that MAN is a strategic partner of the government when it comes to completing this task. The tough conditions faced by manufacturers in Nigeria, most notably inadequate power, are the current administration’s top priority.
