Director General of the Nigeria Securities and Exchange Commission Mounir Gwazo gave the keynote address Tuesday at the Commodity Trading and Risk Management Seminar in Abuja.

The two-day seminar focused on revitalizing Nigeria's agricultural commodity market, particularly the palm oil and peanut trade, which Nigeria used to lead. The seminar emphasized the importance of modern and efficient infrastructure, including financing, processing and distribution. It also covered building proficiency in commodity trading.

“The focus and interest in developing Nigeria’s agriculture sector has never been higher so now is the right time to run this seminar and support everyone in trying to build a modern and efficient market for agricultural produce," INTL FCStone’s Senior Vice President for Africa Stuart Ponder said.

The event was organized by AFEX Commodities Exchange Ltd. and INTL FCStone Ltd.
