Africa Energy Forum heads to London

The 18th Annual Africa Energy Forum will be held June 21 to June 24 at the London Intercontinental O2.

The event is billed a major networking opportunity for African energy professionals seeking investment and partnerships, a dynamic that will be emphasized by this year's theme of "Mergers and Acquisitions."

Event organizers expect to expedite the forming of new business relationships by providing a mobile networking app. At the last conference, held in June, the app was responsible for 1,900 messages exchanged and 200 meetings arranged.

“We are very excited to bring AEF to London," Group Director Shiddika Mohamed said. "The theme of the Forum this year is ‘Mergers and Acquisitions’, so being in London, the world’s finance capital, will enable Africa’s growing number of power developers to showcase their businesses to decision makers of the world’s most prolific investment organizations from around the globe."

Event organizers expect more than 2,000 investors, developers, government stakeholders and technology providers from more than 70 countries to attend.

In addition to the typical networking activities, participants will also have the opportunity to participate in a new Growing Economies Energy Forum (GEEF) happening alongside the main conference. The GEEF will focus on investing opportunities in developing economies outside of Africa, such as Iran, Pakistan and Myanmar.

Both events are being organized by EnergyNet Ltd.
