Technology advances in Nigeria are changing the way business is done, with smartphones, cloud applications and other new technology offered through the country's growing telecom infrastructure.
Having access to these tools allows businesses to run more efficiently than ever.
“Mobility is the growth engine of the Nigerian economy,” Magnus Nmonwu, regional director of Software Services for Sage West Africa, said. “It is helping people to enhance their lives and to improve their standard of living, while enabling enterprises to transform how they operate."
The recent Ericsson Mobility Report showed that 80 percent of Sub-Saharan Africans use mobile devices. By 2021, analysts said that will grow to 100 percent -- or 1 billion subscriptions.
Nigeria is one of Africa's largest mobile markets.
“Many of our customers and employees today walk around with smart devices that give them access to apps and information wherever they are,” Nmonwu said. “For example, Facebook’s statistics show that 7.1 million Nigerians access its platform every day. And 100 percent of its monthly users access Facebook on a mobile smart phone."
Mobile applications are also becoming necessary so a company's employees and managers can stay connected and access information while on the road.
"The future is mobile and we are giving our customers the power to control their businesses from the palm of their hand,” Nmonwu said. “We connect our customers to accountants and partners with real time and intuitive information about their business.”
