Nigeria Energy Calculator now available online

The Nigeria Energy Calculator, a web tool that will predict energy supply and demand as well as carbon dioxide emissions in Nigeria for the next 35 years, was unveiled Oct. 28 in Abuja.

“I am delighted to be in Abuja today to launch the Nigeria Energy Calculator and promote the forthcoming UN Conference on Climate Change," David King, the U.K. Foreign Secretary’s Special Representative for Climate Change, said. "The U.K. is ready to work with Nigeria and others to help ensure that when world leaders meet in Paris, a strong and legally binding agreement is achieved.

King also expressed his eagerness to witness Nigeria's gains in green power.

"I am also looking forward to seeing the progress Nigeria has made in delivering greener power and moving away from generator dependence."

A focus of the UN Conference will be rising global temperatures. Heads of state from many nations will discuss legal agreements that will reduce carbon dioxide emissions in all nations.
