Solange Eveline K. Rita Agneketom Bogore, Burkina Faso's new permanent representative to the United Nations, presented her credentials Oct. 21 to the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Vienna.
The presentation of credentials is a diplomatic ritual authorizing someone to represent their country abroad. In this case, Director-General Yury Fedetov will review Bogore's credentials to authorize her to represent her nation at the United Nations.
Bogore has been working in diplomacy and international development since 1998, when she took a job as a Foreign Affairs Counselor at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In the 17 years since, she has held several positions in that agency as well as several other diplomatic positions that connect Burkina Faso with parts of Europe and the Pacific. Since 2013, Bogore has been Burkina Faso's ambassador and Deputy Permanent Representative to Vienna.
Agneketom Bogore was educated in Europe, earning a Master's Degree in German and a Postgraduate Professional Diploma in Development and International Cooperation from the University of Paris.
She succeeds Der Kogda as Burkina Faso's Permanent Representative at the U.N. Kogda held the post since 2011.
Burkina Faso has been a member of the United Nations since 1960.
