Educators and science professionals from African Union (AU) states gathered Wednesday at the Meeting of Senior Experts of the First Specialized Technical Committee (STC) on education, science and technology.
Taking place at the AU Commission Headquarters in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, Acting Director of Human Resources, Science and Technology Dr. Mahama Ouedraogo said in his opening statements that the main goal of the meeting was to bring together the commission's departments in order to share important information about issues and initiatives.
Dr. Ouedraogo also underscored the African Agenda 2063 and how science, technology and innovation are integral to the agenda's as well as the union's developmental goals.
As the meeting ended, it was anticipated that a new ministerial bureau for the operation of the STC for the next two years would need to be elected.
