DHL Express brings its Growing Beyond Borders to Sub-Saharan Africa

DHL Express has announced it will launch its Growing Beyond Borders program in Sub-Saharan Africa.

According to DHL, the positive economic moment experienced by the region has created the potential to invest in business expansion. The Growing Beyond Borders workshop is an internal learning and development platform aimed at providing educationand encouraging international trade for small and medium sized businesses.

Growing Beyond Borders was developed under the same model as the DHL Express Certified International Specialist (CIS) program which has been attended by 4,000 DHL employees.

“CIS equips our employees with the specialized knowledge they need to do their job competently and confidently" Managing Director for DHL Express SSA Hennie Heymans said. "Similarly, the Growing Beyond Borders workshop seeks to pass on logistics knowledge to our customers, equipping them with expertise on growing their business across borders.”

The first African countries to receive the Growing Beyond Borders program are Botswana, Zimbabwe, Ethiopia and Mauritius, South Africa, Nigeria, Kenya, Cote d’Ivoire, Ghana and Uganda.
